Signs it needs attention

When siding stops doing its job.

Cracked, split or missing panels. Vinyl gets brittle with age and UV. Once panels crack, water reaches the wrap behind them.

Warping, buckling or panels pulling loose. Usually improper nailing or no allowance for expansion. Vinyl moves with temperature, and siding nailed tight buckles in July.

Fading and chalking. Cosmetic at first, but chalky residue on your hand means the UV inhibitors are spent and the panel is past its service life.

Soft spots or rot in the wall behind. Press the wall. Any give means water has been getting behind the panels, and the sheathing needs to come off before new siding goes on.

Interior symptoms. Peeling paint or wallpaper inside, unexplained damp, or mildew smell on an exterior wall. Water in a wall shows up indoors before it shows up outdoors.

What we do

Siding, and everything it meets.

Most of our siding work

Siding replacement

Full tear-off, house wrap and flashing detailed at every opening, then new panels installed to spec. This is where most of our siding work sits.
01

Siding repair

Cracked, faded, warped or wind-torn sections replaced and blended. Worth doing when the rest of the wall has life left.
02

Storm damage siding repair

Wind-torn panels, hail dents, impact damage. If a storm hit your siding it almost certainly hit your roof, and both belong in the same claim, see storm damage repair.
03

New construction and additions

Full exteriors on new builds and additions, coordinated with the rest of the shell.
04

Trim, wraps and flashing

Window and door wraps, corner posts, J-channel, kick-out and step flashing at every roof-to-wall intersection.
One crew for all of it

The rest of the envelope

Soffits and fascia, gutters and downspouts, and the roof above it all, one crew, one point of contact.

Honest comparison
Vinyl or fiber cement, told straight
Vinyl or fiber cement

An honest comparison, not a sales pitch.

Vinyl is the right answer for most homes here. It costs less, it never needs painting, and modern panels handle Southern Maryland humidity without complaint.

Fiber cement buys you impact resistance and a painted finish. It costs more, it is heavier to hang, and it does need repainting eventually.

What actually decides it is your budget, how exposed the wall is, and whether you want a paint color nobody else on the street has. We will tell you which one we would put on our own house and why.

Why choose us

Siding is a water management job, not a decorating job.

Water doesn’t respect trade boundaries, and that’s the real argument for using us. Most siding failures we open up started above the siding, a missing kick-out flashing where a roof meets a wall, a failed drip edge, a gutter dumping behind the fascia. A siding crew replaces the panels and moves on; we find the source, because we’re the people who work on the roof edge too. It also means one point of contact instead of coordinating a roofer and a siding contractor who each point at the other when something leaks a year later. If a storm hit your house, it hit the roof and the walls, and documenting both in one report makes for a stronger claim.

Everything else works the way it does on our roofing jobs. Photos before anything is quoted, an itemized estimate, and damaged sheathing priced on the quote so nothing appears on your invoice you didn’t approve with a picture in front of you. The quote holds from paper to final bill. We’re family owned and based in Mechanicsville, licensed under MHIC #151744, GAF Certified and insured, and we finish with a magnetic nail sweep and a walk-through, because a siding job leaves just as much in the yard as a roof does.

Recent work

Most of our work is a few streets from the last job.

Neighbors watch a roof go on, then call. That is how this business has grown and it is why we will not cut a corner where somebody is watching, which is everywhere.

If you want to see what a finished job looks like before you pick up the phone, the gallery is full of real roofs across St. Mary’s, Calvert and Charles County.

Vinyl or fiber cement, which should I choose?

Vinyl is the better value for most homes here. Fiber cement is worth the premium on exposed or waterfront lots and if you want a painted board look. We’ll walk you through both with real numbers for your house rather than a sales pitch for the more expensive one.

We photograph it, show you, and replace the sheathing by the sheet at the price already on your quote. You approve it before it goes on the bill.

Often, if wind or hail caused it. Hail dents and wind-lifted panels are commonly missed because everyone’s looking at the roof. We document the whole envelope so it’s in one claim, see storm damage repair.

Yes, when the rest of the wall has life left. The honest caveat is color matching, vinyl fades and product lines change, so a repair on an older house may not be invisible. We’ll show you what to expect first.

Regularly, and it’s usually the cheaper way to do it. One mobilization, one crew, and the roof-to-wall flashing gets done right because the same people are doing both sides of it.

Yes, in all three counties, and it’s included in the quote.

Related services

Siding work usually touches the rest of the envelope. Soffits and fascia are often replaced at the same time, and gutters and downspouts come off and go back on either way. If a storm caused the damage, storm damage repair covers the claim documentation for the roof and walls together. And if the roof is nearing the end, roof replacement alongside siding saves a mobilization.
