Prince Frederick has been Calvert’s county seat for centuries, and today the County Administration Building on Main Street houses the office that issues roofing permits. The State Highway Administration finished widening MD 2/4, Solomons Island Road, through town in 2020, and the College of Southern Maryland’s campus sits off Route 231.
